Hosting should not need a lawyer to read.

Most hosting is sold on a first-year price that quietly doubles at renewal, on a control panel you cannot take with you, with limits you discover only after paying. None of that is illegal. It is just a poor way to treat someone who has trusted you with their business.

We started SitePex because that pattern is so normal in this industry that customers assume it. They read a price and mentally add a question mark. They ask "what is the catch" before they ask "is it fast", because experience has taught them there is usually a catch.

So we do the boring opposite. The renewal price is printed on the plan card rather than in a terms page three clicks away. The panel is cPanel, which means everything you learn transfers and your backups restore anywhere. And the list of things shared hosting cannot do — Docker, Java, persistent workers — is on the hosting page, before the buy button, not after it.

That costs us some sales. Someone reads that we cannot run their Java application and goes elsewhere, which is the correct outcome for both of us. It also costs us far fewer refunds, and refunds are what a wrong sale turns into three weeks later.
